After a historic season in which the University of Toledo Women's Basketball team finished as the Mid-American Conference Champions (26-5, 17-1 MAC), the UT Rockets now set their sights on the winning the 32-team Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT). The WBIT which is owned and run by the NCAA is in its augural year, giving the Rockets a chance to truly cement their name in history and UT students have an exciting opportunity to share in the experience.
Thanks to their conference championship UT earned themselves an automatic number 2 seed in the tournament bracket. After a first-round victory over the Horizon League Champions, Cleveland State, the Rockets are set to host St. John’s on March 24th. This is a thrilling opportunity for UT students and alumni to share in a truly monumental step in the school’s history in what is sure to be an electric atmosphere.
